Monkeys that lived and still lives are divided into old world monkeys and new world monkeys. In olden times, monkeys were called primates. Primates are divided into three groups. The first two groups are monkeys and the third group is the apes. Monkeys actually lived in old world and new world. There are two hundred and sixty four known different types of monkeys.
Monkeys are usually used for laboratory research work and similar to these. Some people are fascinated with the idea of having this wild animal as their pet. Many people breed monkeys either for money or simply as a hobby. Breeding a monkey requires extensive knowledge about the animal.

There are many things to consider before breeding a monkey and many things to consider after breeding monkeys. The breeder must know everything he has to, about the monkey before he even consider having the idea of breeding. He must know the type of monkey he has and the type of monkey he should breed to.
There are sets of rules and procedures which should be strictly followed while breeding two monkeys. There are many breeders online with whom you can contact and get to know the things you have to for breeding monkeys. Breeding monkeys is no way similar to breeding a dog or any other domestic pet. It requires effort, and it’s expensive, and not to mention, its time consuming. Usually monkeys are bred either for laboratory research purposes. Breeders who breed monkeys usually dedicate their lives for the breeding and consider this husbandry, their main occupation.
